As a first-generation Latina from Chicago’s South Side, Alejandra’s drive to improve public systems is deeply personal. Growing up in a community with limited access to resources, she understands the importance of designing systems that uplift families furthest from opportunity. Alejandra earned her bachelor’s in economics from the University of Michigan and is a proud alum of the Noble Network of Charter Schools. Her commitment to advancing justice, equity, and opportunity for underserved communities fuels her passion for the work she does at Afton.
