Yesha Shah is an Analyst at Afton Partners and part of the Education Finance Analyst program. Yesha primarily supports Afton’s charter school finance initiatives and contributes to Afton’s fiscal sustainability and funding policy initiatives with school districts and state education & early childhood agencies.
Yesha’s current and past work at Afton include:
- Co-creating a dynamic tool used to help schools within districts make efficient decisions and create scenarios to be sustainable in the long run.
- Conducting in-depth research of a school’s governance policies to help provide advice and identify barriers to the school’s continued growth.
- Collaborating with leadership teams to assess strategic implementation risks.
Yesha joined Afton for its impact on charter schools and its influence on aiding schools in promoting educational equity. Before her time at Afton, Yesha completed an Early Childhood Education Program where she obtained a certificate after teaching in two Pre-K classrooms. Yesha also interned at the Lowndes County Board of Commissioners where she worked with the Finance and Accounting team to create invoices and track payments.
Yesha earned her master’s in financial analysis at Rutgers University and a bachelor’s in economics and finance at Valdosta State University. At Valdosta State University, Yesha served as the Co-Founder and President of Langdale FinTech Society, where she introduced FinTech to students and helped them with career opportunities and professional advice.
