Alejandra Garcia

Senior Associate; Chicago, IL

Alejandra combines technical expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and cost modeling with a relational approach to stakeholder engagement.

Her recent contributions include:

  • Developing state funding and grant models for early childhood education agencies and organizations.
  • Creating multi-year financial projections for school systems.
  • Leading fiscal transparency initiatives for districts and states.
  • Analyzing cost structures, developing equitable resource allocation strategies, and supporting policy leaders in making data-informed decisions that create long-term impact.

At the core of her work is a belief that real solutions come from listening to the people directly impacted and using technical expertise to turn their insights into scalable, sustainable strategies. Alejandra is dedicated to creating a future where every community has the tools to thrive.

As a first-generation Latina from Chicago’s South Side, Alejandra’s drive to improve public systems is deeply personal. Growing up in a community with limited access to resources, she understands the importance of designing systems that uplift families furthest from opportunity. Alejandra earned her bachelor’s in economics from the University of Michigan and is a proud alum of the Noble Network of Charter Schools. Her commitment to advancing justice, equity, and opportunity for underserved communities fuels her passion for the work she does at Afton.
